Amsterdam 5 May 2010 -
After the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud darkened the skies, bringing European air traffic to a grinding halt, the sun came out for ISSA/INTERCLEAN Amsterdam. Exhibitors were very satisfied with the 23,415 visitors, plenty of innovations & trends and the many networking opportunities. This year, ISSA/INTERCLEAN had a record number of exhibitors, some 651 in total. Both visitors and exhibitors highly value the professional nature of the trade show and its characteristic, jovial atmosphere. The many international contact opportunities show ISSA/INTERCLEAN Amsterdam is the largest, international trade show in the field of professional cleaning. The next edition will take place from 8 to 11 May 2012 at Amsterdam RAI in the Netherlands. International appeal increasingThe percentage of foreign visitors has clearly increased: in 2008, 67 percent of visitors came from abroad; in 2010 this has increased to 71 percent. Of the 23,415 visitors 76 percent were authorised buyers. The number of companies represented by visitors increased 14 percent. There was also a marked rise in the number of visitors from South Africa and Central & Eastern Europe. A remarkable result given the current economic conditions. This confirms ISSA/INTERCLEAN Amsterdam's position as the largest and most international trade show in the world for the professional cleaning sector.
ISSA/INTERCLEAN Innovation Award: the Netherlands amply representedBaudoin Wash-Systems' Travelator Cleaner.nl is an innovative product that quickly and efficiently cleans large expanses of glass alongside travelators. Bart de Bonth – Sales Manager for Baudoin Wash Systems: “ISSA/INTERCLEAN 2010 was great for us. Winning the Innovation Award was a fabulous token of appreciation. The accompanying publicity attracted a lot of additional visitors to our stand. People were very interested in the product we won the award with and wanted to see the Travelator Cleaner.nl in action. Winning the Innovation Award definitely generated extra leads. Our 2008 ISSA/INTERCLEAN participation gave us 411 leads, now we have 673”.
Alongside the overall prize, Baudoin Wash Systems also won in the category ‘Equipment for cleaning, care and safety'. The jury selected the following winners for the remaining two categories. In the category 'Machines, accessories and components' Kärcher from Germany won with its BD 50/40 RS scrubber dryer. And in the category 'Cleaning management and training solutions' the prize went to Alpheios International from the Netherlands and its Vive Sustainability Scan.
WASHROOM and HIGH PRESSUREBoth exhibitors and visitors were very pleased with WASHROOM, our first venture into segmentation. In Hall 9 and 10 visitors could view total solutions in the field of toilet hygiene and sanitary area layout in an efficient, clearly laid out manner. Åsa Kalentun - Regional Marketing Director NorthWest of Tork / SCA Hygiene Products: “We were a little concerned about the visitor numbers due to the travel situation in the previous week; however, leads were of a better quality as most of the visitors coming to the new Washroom Hall were already very interested in Washroom products. Overall a highly successful show for SCA!”
Outdoors, HIGH PRESSURE was also popular. Visitors watched as graffiti and paint were rapidly and easily sprayed off walls using the latest pressure washers and could then try out themselves. Exhibitors were very happy with the way they could demonstrate equipment in practice. Katrien Jacobs – Marketing Manager of Dibo NV from Belgium: “This trade show was very interesting as we could link to the action outdoors and vice versa. Informed visitors stepped outside and were immediately able to assess the action, whilst parties interested in the machines came in to see us after having been outdoors”.
A special welcome at Schiphol AirportISSA/INTERCLEAN Amsterdam's international visitors were given a warm welcome at ISSA/INTERCLEAN's Meeting Point at Schiphol Airport. At the desk visitors received a trade show catalogue and a floor plan, could print out their free return ticket for the train and hostesses were on hand to immediately provide the visitors with information and booking opportunities.
